Concentrations of Airborne Microplastics during the Dry Season at Five Locations in Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Thailand

Information on airborne microplastics (AMPs) in Thailand is still not available. This study monitored and identified AMPs Bangkok Metropolitan Region (BMR), Thailand. A high-volume air sampler was used to collect at five different locations BMR. These are university, roadside, urban park, dumpsite, industrial estate. The results showed that concentration averaged 333.42 ± 142.99 per cubic meter (n/m3). of the dumpsite much higher than other areas. relationship between total suspended particles (TSP) highly dependent sources nearby. Higher AMP with TSP were found On hand, lower roadside park. Regarding shape AMPs, majority (97.22%) fragment form while only 2.78% fiber form. Polyethylene (PE) fragments cellophane fibers major polymer types which present all locations.
